In my past columns, I've often mentioned the huge importance of the IPL auction, suggesting that half of the tournament can be won on the auction table. I still believe this is true, but as the 2022 IPL plays itself out, Cbtf I also believe we are witnessing some excellent examples of why the auction is only 50 percent of the equation.
